Network for Promotion of Sustainable Development and Preservation of Traditional Knowledge “Nasyat” began its activities in 2013 on the initiative of 17 organizations working in the field of biocultural diversity.

Since then, the Network becomes an informal structured organization, with an approved mission, vision, identified areas of activity, an organizational structure that has database of network members.

Currently, the Network unites the efforts of 52 organizations from different regions of the country.

Members of the Nasyat Network of Biocultural Diversity (BCD) are guided by principles and values that contribute for changes and rethinking by local communities of their perception, attitude and responsible participation in preserving the natural and cultural heritage for future generations.


The Nasyat Network is the leading organization in Central Asia promoting biocultural diversity (BCD).


Combining efforts and potential of network members and partners to achieve sustainable development through the conservation and promotion of biological and cultural diversity in Central Asia.

  • Improving intersectoral interaction (state, media, local communities, academic and scientific circles, civil society institutions, etc.), developing the participation mechanisms in promotion of BCD;
  • Supporting local initiatives for the development of culture (including traditional knowledge and practices) and implementation of responsible environmental practices. Changing public attitudes towards issues of BCD;
  • Increasing the potential of the target audience of the Network in the field of BCD (local communities and initiative groups, custodians of traditional knowledge; farmers / pasture users).
